In recent years, growing herbs has become a popular pastime for many people across the world. Aside from being a soothing hobby, maintaining one's own herb garden has many other benefits. For one thing you can ensure that your herbs are grown organically and are not genetically modified. Most people prefer to grow their own herbal gardens for specific purposes. The most common uses of herbs are their culinary and medicinal uses and although the medicinal value of herbs have long been recognized in ancient cultures such as that of India and China, in modern times, people in western countries have learnt to appreciate the ancient science of traditional herbal medicine.

The problem with using chemically charged drugs is that they tend to cause many side-effects and may even result in fatalities whereas in stark contrast natural medicine may be slow to take effect but does not usually cause any harmful side-effects. In some cases, people have been known to react with allergies to some content of natural herbal medicine but such cases are rare and usually mild. Chinese herbal medicines usually include treatment for such allergic reactions and side-effects in the medication itself.

Still despite the fact that there may be occasional side-effects fro herbal medicine or the treatment period gets unduly extended at times, many people prefer this form of treatment or would at least try to supplement their scientific treatment with herbal remedies because their effectiveness has been proven over centuries.
Because of their reputation for being harmless yet effective, herbal medicines are becoming more and more popular and although many Indian manufacturers have been launching herbal medicinal products for years and decades, in recent years the herbal medicine industry in India has witnessed a rapid growth. If you look through an existing list of herbal beauty products manufacturers in India, you will see that the range of such manufacturers is no longer limited to a handful of big companies like Emami or Shahnaz Husain but in fact, there are many fledgling companies like Biotique for example which have come into the arena with herbal products to treat hair, skin and body ailments.

It is obvious that the Indian herbal products manufacturers and exporter directory is rapidly growing and one now has a host of herb importers, herb exporters and herbal remedy manufacturers that one can choose to do business with in the area of Indian herbal remedies. In addition, many Indian people still employ the ancient form of medicine within their own household. For instance, holy basil is often boiled in water to make a tea to soothe a sore throat or the same liquid may be gargled with for relief. A concoction of crushed betel leaves and honey has also been seen to offer relief from sore throats. Indian gooseberry, almonds and walnuts are used in traditional herbal medicine to boost memory, whereas lavender, almond and sage are often used in massage oils to moisturize and nourish the area with vitamins.
